Bond is set at $1 million for a suspect in a shooting on Feb. 10 in Harker Heights that left a Killeen man dead.

Parish Dionte Young, 25, of Killeen, turned himself in Tuesday morning at the Harker Heights Police Department.

He is charged with murder in the death of Larry James Sterling, 35, of Killeen, who was pronounced dead at the scene early in the morning of Feb. 10 at the intersection of West Beeline Lane and South Roy Reynolds Drive in Harker Heights.

A passerby called 911 after spotting him lying in the intersection at around 2:40 a.m.

The caller at first thought Sterling was intoxicated and had passed out, but then discovered the man was unresponsive, police said.

Officers and paramedics performed CPR in an unsuccessful attempt to revive Sterling, who had been shot repeatedly.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 953-5400.
