HILLSBORO, Texas (KWTX) An 18-wheeler driver who ran after a late-night traffic stop in Hill County was tracked down with the help of a drone.

John C. Farrow, 44, was taken to the Hill County Jail after he was treated for cuts and scratches he received as he ran through a wooded area, the Hill County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Friday.

He faces an evading arrest charge and other charges are possible, the press release said.

Department of Public Safety troopers pulled the rig over just before 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

They smelled marijuana and removed the driver from the cab, but as they were interviewing him, he bolted with a trooper in pursuit, the sheriff’s office said.

Hill County deputies and a sheriff’s office K-9 unit joined the search and Hill County’s emergency management coordinator deployed the drone with which the suspect was located.
