Missing 3-year-old Texas boy named in Amber Alert found safe

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KWTX) A League City boy missing since last Friday was found safe just hours after an Amber Alert was issued early Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, the Texas City Police Department issued an Amber Alert for 3-year-old Alexzander Clayton Russell.

Russell was last seen with his grandmother, Beverly Mickens, 40, and was potentially in grave danger, authorities said in the Amber Alert, which was issued at around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Several hours later the manager of a hotel in Galveston saw the alert on TV, recognized the description of the Suburban Mickens was driving, and called police.

The boy was reunited with his mother and then was taken to a hospital for a checkup.

Beverly Mickens was taken into custody.
