Crash involving car, 18-wheeler on I-35 leaves driver trapped

Firefighters had to free a driver from the wreckage of a car that slammed into the rear of an 18-wheeler Thursday morning on Interstate 35.

The accident was reported just before 8 a.m. Thursday on the northbound interstate north of New Road in Waco.

Few details were immediately available, but the accident backed up traffic from 2 to 4 miles, the Texas Department of Transportation said.

The accident scene was cleared just before 9:30 a.m.
