Valley Mills: Elementary school locked down because of ‘possible situation’

VALLEY MILLS, Texas (KWTX) Valley Mills Elementary School was placed on soft lockdown Tuesday afternoon following a tip from a parent of “a possible situation,” the district’s superintendent, Mike Kelly, said in a message to parents.

“We deemed it necessary to place our school on a soft lockdown as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and security of students and staff members,” he said.

“The district school resource officer and other local authorities responded and contained the situation. Through the entirety of the situation, all students and staff members were safe,” he said.
