Trent Brosnan Womack, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a family member, endangering a child, and possession of marijuana.

He remained in the Falls County Jail Wednesday night in lieu of bonds totaling $99,000.

According to Sheriff Ricky Scaman, he responded to an area-wide 911 call around 3 p.m. Tuesday where a woman reported a man had a gun and was threatening to kill her over their child.

"The victim says he put the gun to her head, saying he would shoot her if he didn't get his kid," said Scaman.

When Scaman got to the residence on BTW Pkwy in Marlin, the Sheriff says he took the armed suspect to the ground.

"I was nearby and first on scene, and I saw a guy with a gun, the victim was backed away from him in the middle of the street," he said. "When I pulled into the yard, I put the suspect on the ground, handcuffed him, and waited for backup to respond."

He says the suspect had clawed the victim's face as he was trying to grab the child and put a loaded gun to her head: a gun they recovered that the same suspect had allegedly used the night before, too.

On Monday night, Marlin PD responded to H-E-B where a shooting had taken place.

Scaman says Womack and the victim got into an argument over the child in the parking lot, then he shot the victim's car--with the child inside--doing damage to another vehicle, too.

The mother and child were not hurt and were able to drive away and escape, Scaman said.

Authorities say CPS has been notified.
