DONIE, Texas (KWTX) A man armed with a blue steel revolver and wearing a wig and a fake beard robbed a bank Monday morning in the small Freestone County town of Donie south of Teague, leaving the employees locked in the vault.

The robbery occurred just after 10 a.m. Monday at the bank at 235 Main St.

The man, who was white and was dark sunglasses, a ball cap, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and a gray hooded sweatshirt with “Maine East Athletic Department” on it brandished a long barreled revolver and demanded cash, authorities said.

After ordering the employees into the vault and closing the door, he escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in a gray or silver four-door passenger car that may have been a Ford Focus headed east on State Highway 164 toward Buffalo.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the Freestone County Sheriff's Office at (903) 389-3236.
