Police have made an arrest in a shooting after two people were wounded by gunfire in the parking lot of a strip shopping center in Copperas Cove.
Tamarcus Jaques Scott was arrested shortly after the shooting and facing a charge or aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said Friday.
After the shooting, police released surveillance photos of five suspects.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired at around 12:20 a.m. Sunday at the Cove Terrace Shopping Center at 314 Cove Terrace.
They determined that an altercation that started in a business in the shopping center moved to the parking lot where multiple shots were fired, police said Tuesday.
Meanwhile police received a report from AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen about a gunshot victim.
“It was later learned that there were actually two victims being treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.
Police think the three suspects fled in a gray Hyundai sedan.
