Arrest made in robbery of area credit union
Police have arrested a Fort Worth man in connection with a credit union robbery.
Hillsboro Police Officers responded to the First Central Credit Union at 305 Coke Street just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.
A man had entered the bank with a handgun and demanded money.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the time, but after an investigation by the Hillsboro Criminal Investigation Unit they found out his identity and residency.
Robert David Mielnicki, 36, of Fort Worth was taken into custody at around 3:45 p.m. Monday.
He is currently being held in the Tarrant County jail pending further investigation by the FBI.
He's charged with aggravated robbery.
His bond was set at $30,000, according to online jail records.
