There she is, Miss Texas 2016.

Waco resident Caroline Carothers was crowned as the new Miss Texas last night in Richardson.

Caroline is a junior at Baylor University where she performs as one of the feature baton twirlers.

During the preliminary contests, she won the talent award for her twirling.

Last year, she held the title of Miss Waco, and this year she competed at the Miss Texas pageant as Miss Plano.

With her new title, she will travel the state doing community service and making appearances at Texas schools and events speaking on her platform, "With + Math = I Can."

Caroline will represent Texas at the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City in September.
