Bell County public health officials have announced the first presumptive Coronavirus (COVID19)case.

"The case is a 29-year-old male who resides in Belton," County Judge Blackburn said, "The case appears to be travel-related."

According to a news release, the individual is undergoing confirmation testing with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Officials said the male patient in Belton has a travel history of visiting Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France between March 4 and March 10.

The District has initiated self-isolation protocol and is tracing the patient's contact.

Right now, this puts the county's Phase 2 plan into action which means residents should stay at least 6 feet away from other people and avoid social and workplace areas.

It also asks residents to follow all of the guidelines of Stage 1 which are: to stay home if they are sick, avoid contact with anyone else, avoid touching their face and wash their hands and surfaces touched regularly.
