Belton, Texas Cedar Crest Hospital and Residential Treatment Center on Thursday held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its newest, "state-of-the-art" residential treatment cottage.
The new hospital is located on a 30-acre site in the 3500 block of South Interstate 35 in Belton.
"The private campus includes walking trails, picnic areas, an outdoor swimming pool, full-size gym, and exercise equipment providing opportunities for leisure, therapeutic recreation, and team building skills," the hospital said in a news release.
In addition to providing acute inpatient psychiatric treatment to children, adolescents and adults, the hospital will also provide "innovative behavioral health treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and military personnel," officials said.
Cedar Crest said there will also be partial hospital programs for adolescents and adults at the new facility in Belton.
The Chambers of Commerce of Belton and Temple also participated in Thursday's ribbon-cutting ceremony.
