Belton: Department of Public Safety opens new facility
The Department of Public Safety held a grand opening at its new facility Thursday, located at 2501 South Loop 121 in Belton.
The office will house all personnel who previously worked in the Temple and Killeen offices.
Sgt. Bryan Washko says the new facility will house 30 staff, comprised of administration, Texas Rangers, criminal investigators, a recruiter and his media/communications office.
"This location, we're directly next to the sheriff's office and jail we'll be able to work closely with our partners in law enforcement and our surrounding agencies. We have state of the art technology in here, up to date technology to assist in our investigations and crash investigations," Washko said.
The move to the new facility created some space at the DPS office in Temple, which will be renovated to provide more space for driver license operations.
