Belton: United Way hosts Hometown Huddle with UMHB football team
Over 100 kids piled into Crusader Stadium on Saturday to participate in the United Way of Central Texas' Hometown Huddle.
The event encouraged children, ages 7 to 12, to learn the importance of playing for 60 minutes a day and fighting childhood obesity.
Former University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Chicago Bears linebacker Jerrell Freeman also gave tips to the kids and signed autographs.
Current Cru players joined eight non-contact sport drills along with coaches from Titan Total Training.
Some of the obstacles included a football tire toss and buddy course.
T3, Don Ringler, Kohl's of Temple, Bancorp South and H-E-B assisted in the event.
