Belton: Local man indicted for online solicitation of a minor
A Belton man was named in an indictment Wednesday charging online solicitation of a minor.
Robert Lee Soll, 49, who was arrested during a sting operation that was initiated by the Public Safety Department, in Woodway was indicted for trying to arrange a sexual rendezvous who a person he thought was a 16-year-old girl, an affidavit in the case says.
A Woodway officer told Belton investigators he had talked with a man in Belton who wanted to arrange a meeting with the girl for sex, the affidavit says.
The two agreed to meet Aug.t 9 at the Belton Starbucks, which officers staked out, waiting for the suspect to arrive.
Officers confronted Soll when he went into the Starbucks and arrested him there.
During questioning Soll admitted he had made the phone call and had asked to meet the girl for sex.
