Local school district employee hit by car on first day of class

A Killeen Independent School District employee was taken to a local hospital Monday after being hit by a car while riding a bicycle to work.

Killeen police say it happened at around 8 a.m. Monday at West Stan Schlueter Loop and Littlerock Drive.

They say the employee works at Willow Springs Elementary School, which is just a few blocks away from where the accident happened.

After the accident the employee was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Additional information was not immediately available.
