Lock down lifted a local high school
A local high school was placed on lockdown Thursday after an armed man nearby was threatening to harm himself.
Killeen High School and Harker Heights High School parents were notified that Harker Heights High School is under a precautionary lockdown around 11 a.m.
The notification said an incident occurred close in proximity to Harker Heights High School.
According to police, on the scene in the 2000 block of Drawbridge Dr., police were notified because a man in a truck was threatening to harm himself in his driveway.
The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m., according to an automated message sent out to parents.
Students were allowed to exit through the north side of HHHS campus.
