The Marlin Police Department held a candlelight vigil to remember one of its own Saturday night.
Police Chief Darrell Allen was fatally shot in 2015 while working an off-duty security job at a bar in Temple.
On Saturday, his colleagues, family and friends lit candles and released balloons to remember his life.
Last year, Derrick Wayne Gamble was sentenced to 95 years in prison for Allen's murder.
