McGregor: Car-truck crash sends 3 to local hospitals

A crash involving a car and a work truck late Wednesday morning left the driver of the car trapped and sent three people to local hospitals.

The accident happened just before noon Wednesday on southbound State Highway 317 at South Loop just outside of McGregor.

Authorities say the car and the truck were both headed south on 317 when the driver of the car started to make a U-turn.

The truck’s driver was unable to avoid the car, authorities said.

The collision sent the truck through a fence.

McGregor firefighters had to free the woman driving the car from the wreckage.

Information about injuries and conditions wasn’t immediately available.

Authorities were diverting southbound traffic around the accident site early Wednesday afternoon.
