Card skimmer discovered on pump at area convenience store
Police in Clifton are warning residents to check debit and credit card statements closely after a skimmer was discovered on a pump at a local convenience store.
After an investigation launched in response to reports of fraudulent debit card charges, police determined the residents who filed complaints had all purchased fuel from a local Ace Convenience Store, authorities said in a Facebook post.
Officers contacted managers who in turn contacted fuel pump technicians who found the skimmer, police said.
“Anyone who recently used their debit or credit cards at the location should view statements and communicate with your financial institution to insure no fraudulent charges occurred,” police said.
