Central Texas 2nd grader left on school bus for entire day

The Centerville ISD is investigating after a child was left on a school bus on Monday for the entire school day.
Centerville ISD Superintendent Jason Jeitz says the second grader was left on the bus in the morning, and was found later at the end of the school day.
Jeitz says the bus driver responsible for that shift has been terminated from the district.
The reason why the child was left on the bus is still under investigation.
Centerville ISD says the child is safe and is back in attendance.
A letter will be sent home to parents regarding the incident.
Jeitz says bus drivers, bus monitors and coaches will be among those to undergo additional safety training.
He issued a statement in which he said transportation policies will be reviewed and “additional training will take place in a timely manner.”
