A 6-year-old Central Texas girl who was seriously hurt in a rollover accident was in a local hospital Monday.

The girl along with several other people was riding in a vehicle that rolled over and crashed at around 2 p.m. Sunday on FM 1637 near Coopers Crossing, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Dave Roberts said.

He said it was raining at the time of the accident.

The girl was not restrained in the vehicle, he said.

The child was flown to McLane Children's Hospital in Temple where those who know the family said she is awaiting surgery.

The child attends Valley Mills Elementary School.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” Valley Mills Superintendent Mike Kelly said.

He said he had few details on the girl’s condition.
