A Bosque County man was jailed Wednesday charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after his nephew was shot in the stomach during an altercation.
Bond had not been set Wednesday for Adam Scott, 53.
Scott’s nephew, Derek Scott, 25, was in stable condition Wednesday at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco to which he was flown after the shooting Tuesday night in the Lakeside Village area, the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
The shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators recovered two handguns, a shell casing and what appears to be a 9mm bullet from the home at which the shooting occurred, the sheriff’s office said.
Drugs and alcohol may have been factors in the shooting, the sheriff’s office said.
