Central Texas man named in 6-count child sex indictment arrested
A Hico man named in a six-county child sex indictment was in custody Tuesday.
Hamilton County sheriff's investigators arrested J.C. Owens, 60, Monday at his home.
On Jan. 8, Owens was named in indictments charging two counts of sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child stemming from an investigation that started after a child made an outcry.
Owens is held in lieu of bonds totaling $50,000.
“This was another example of the "top notch" investigations being conducted at the HCSO,” Sheriff Justin Caraway said.
“Let this be a lesson to anyone wishing to harm a child in our community. We will hunt you down and have you prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
