A teenager was jailed Friday after a 40 year old Whitney man who had recently moved to a house six miles outside of Hico, was shot and killed during a dispute early Thursday morning at the home on PR 264.

Clifford Rurak died at the scene.

James Jackson Slade, 17, was in the Erath County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond charged with murder, the Stephenville Empire-Tribune reported.

Erath County deputies responded to a report of the shooting at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday and found Rurak dead of a gunshot wound.
