Two women have been arrested in a Hamilton County meth sting dubbed Operation Ice Storm that led to 16 arrests earlier this week throughout Central Texas

Kari Lynn Carothers, 31, of Gatesville was arrested by Coryell County sheriff’s deputies on Friday.

She is charged with one count of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

She was in the Burnet County Jail Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Melissa Ann Arnold, 31, of Eddy was arrested Friday by Temple police.

She is also charged with one count of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

She was also in the Burnet County Jail Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond.

With their arrests, authorities have taken 18 of the 25 suspects for whom they have warrants into custody.

Hamilton County Sheriff Justin Caraway says he expects as many as 30 more arrests in the second phase of the operation, which is the product of a year-and-a-half investigation of methamphetamine trafficking.

Authorities said investigators discovered during the operation that black tar heroin was being sold from a now-closed Bush's Chicken restaurant in Hamilton.

Dealers are moving drugs up U.S. Highway 281 into Hamilton County and beyond.

"These things fan from Fort Worth to Austin to Waco to the Belton-Killeen-Temple area,” Caraway said.

"We're not going to tolerate it if you come to our county. We’re going to put your butt in jail if you do this," he said.
