An 84-year-old Central Texas woman is free on bond after she was charged with murder in the 1984 shooting death of her husband.

Norma Albritton was indicted on June 27 in connection with the death of her husband, Johnnie Albritton.

Leon County investigators arrested her on July 1.

He was shot to death 35 years ago at his home on Highway 75 between Centerville and Buffalo in Leon County.

The Anderson County woman was freed after posting a $50,000 bond.

Leon County authorities say more arrests are possible, KBTX in Bryan reports.

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis said a team of county investigators and a cold case review team conducted an intense investigation “reviewing all possible leads.”

“The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is committed to reviewing its unsolved cases, in an attempt to gain justice for the victims of crimes and their loved ones.”
