A Central Texas woman was sentenced Monday for the shooting death of her ex-husband in 2011 in Mexia.
A jury deliberated for two hours on Oct. 30 before finding Mary Jacoby guilty of murder in the March 31, 2011 shooting death of Raymond Jacoby, 56.
He was gunned down outside of his business, Mexia Recycling.
The verdict, County Attorney Roy DeFriend said, “shows that criminal conduct like this won’t be tolerated in Limestone County.”
Jacoby chose to have the judge assess punishment and on Monday State District Judge Deborah Oakes Evans sentenced her to life.
Jacoby was arrested in April 2016 in George West Texas, two days after she was named in a grand jury indictment charging murder.
