Teen flown to local hospital after car struck him expected to recover

A teenager who was flown to a local hospital after a car struck him in Gatesville is expected to recover, authorities said Monday.

The 16-year-old, whose name has not been released, was struck at around 7 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Main Street after stepping into the path of a car.

Authorities aren’t sure if he was trying to cross the street.

The teenager was flown to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco.

No further information was available Monday.
