Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia network will premiere on Oct. 4, Discovery President and CEO David Zaslav announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” Adweek quoted Zaslav as saying. “

"We think Chip and Joanna represent the values that America is looking for.”

The Gaines announced the new TV network, a joint venture between Magnolia and Discovery, Inc., in April 2019

The venture includes a TV network that will replace Discovery’s DIY Network and an app and subscription streaming service, they said at the time.

The network will also become home to the complete library of episodes of “Fixer Upper,” from the shows debut in May 2013 until the final episode on April 3, 2018.

The series made the Gaines true celebrities and helped put Waco on the map, serving as a catalyst for an explosion of growth and development in the downtown area.

The first original series for Magnolia announced last fall will focus on husband and wife Abner and Amanda Sudano Ramirez as they tour North America with their band, JOHNNYSWIM and their two children, Joaquin, 4, and Luna, 1.

The six-episode series with the working title “Home on the Road,” will premiere as part of the new network’s initial programming rundown.

The series will highlight the band’s tour stops in Dallas, Jacksonville, Fla., New York, Chattanooga, Tenn., Charleston, S.C., Los Angeles and Waco.
