Clifton: Cancer patient gets wish to see movie with sisters
Jackie Olsen and her sisters have been going to the Cliftex Movie Theatre in Clifton nearly every week for decades.
However, everything changed when doctors diagnosed Jackie with cancer.
"When I came back that day, I was about as low as you could get," Jackie said.
Eventually the time came she wasn't able to join her sisters for movie night, and that's where Hospice Sunset stepped in to help.
The theater agreed to hold a special showing for Jackie and her sisters, and as word spread of what was happening, the small get-together quickly turned into Jackie Olsen day.
Jackie's sisters are thankful for the support, and also for Jackie's strength.
"She's the strongest person I know," said Becky Terrell.
"She calls us and cheers us up and gives us strength."
The same strength she shows every single day in the face of immeasurable challenges.
"We all have our bad days, I don't care what's wrong with you," Jackie said.
"I have some rotten days, but most of them are lots of fun."
