Convenience store employee shot during robbery taken to local hospital
Police were looking for three suspects Tuesday after an employee of a Copperas Cove convenience store was shot during a late-night robbery.
The unidentified employee was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple in stable condition after he was shot at around 10:40 p.m. Monday at the Family Food Mart at 2011 Urbantke Lane.
The victim told officers that three men wearing masks and long-sleeved tops walked into the store and demanded money while one of the three brandished a black semi-automatic pistol, police said Tuesday.
“The victim indicated he was walking toward the door, when the suspect with the pistol shot him,” Copperas Cove police Lt. Kevin Miller said in a press release.
“The suspects fled the scene on foot in a northwesterly direction,” he said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Copperas Cove Police Department at (254) 547-8222 or Crime Stoppers at (254) 547-1111.
