Copperas Cove: Student arrested in threat against junior high
A student has been arrested in connection with a threat against S.C. Lee Junior High School in Copperas Cove, the school’s principal, Brian Jost, said in a letter to parents Thursday.
“Please be advised that the student who made the unspecified threat on Tuesday was arrested through the diligent cooperation of CCISD administration, campus administration and the Copperas Cove Police Department,” Jost wrote.
“The investigation is now closed. Student discipline will be administered in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.”
Security was stepped up as a result of the threat.
“Backpacks will not be allowed on campus this week. We will resume normal operating procedures for student dropoff. However, we will continue to provide precautions for safety as we draw the semester to a close,” Jost wrote.
