COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) The 5th annual Copperas Cove Stuff the Bus event wrapped up Sunday evening. Thousands of dollars in school supplies were donated and loaded into a bus that will then be given out to local students.
CCISD says 68 percent of Copperas Cove ISD students qualify for the free and reduced meal program. By partnering with Star-Group Veterans Helping Veterans and Walmart the school district hoped to raise over $38,000 in supplies. Walmart got the ball rolling by donating $1,500 in school supplies.
CCISD says they will accept school supplies donations throughout the school year at any Copperas Cove ISD school or at their administrative offices. The biggest items in need are backpacks and earbuds, but anything will be accepted.
