For the third year in a row, a Copperas Cove teenager did her part in helping 'kick' cancer.

Ariel Draper, 15, is a student at Copperas Cove High School. The idea to fundraiser money to help cancer patients was personal for her.

"It started out three years ago when my grandmaster's wife was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. I just felt horrible that I couldn't do anything to help so I decided to try and raise money to help pay for her medical bills," Draper said.

The 'kickathon' was held in front of Candy Outfitters in the Frontier Plaza Shopping Center.

Several local groups also participated, with demonstrations from the House of Discipline, Legacy Martial Arts, Self Defense America, Martial Zen, and Master Ead's U.S. Taekwondo and MMA.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Pink Warrior Angels of Central Texas.
