Counselors available after area middle school student dies

Counselors were available and the Regional 12 Education Service Center Crisis Support Team was standing by to help Thursday after the death of a Groesbeck Middle School student, Groesbeck Superintendent James Cowley said in a press release.

The student’s name and information about the circumstances surrounding the death were not released.

“The administration, teachers and staff extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family,” Cowley wrote.

“Our main concern is supporting this family, the extended family and our student body during this tragic event,” he said.
