Perched on a bluff overlooking Lake Whitney you'll find a dream that has come true.
Parson's Castle has been a labor of love for Stuart and Rebecca Parsons and has taken more than a decade to complete.
"When we bought the property in 2005 we weren't sure what we were going to build here. But before we even poured the slab we had already had three or four weddings here. So that's sort of how this all developed." Stuart said.
Not content with just building a run-of-the mill wedding destination, Stuart and Rebecca agreed that a full blown castle was the only way to go.
It took years and countless hurdles but the beautiful castle with a stunning view is now finished and ready to entertain Kings and Queens and several hundred of their royal subjects.
"We have a total of nine bedrooms but we also own the cabins across the street and a house nearby so we can sleep a total of around 50." Rebecca said.
The castle is a majestic five stories high with bedrooms and balconies on each floor.
The Grand Ballroom downstairs comfortably seats 250 with a full catering kitchen tucked away, out of sight on the side.
For all this opulence you would expect to pay a king's ransom but Rebecca insists that their prices falls somewhere in the middle.
"We're not the highest priced but we're not the lowest either." she said.
For less than $9,000.00 you can host your event at the castle.
Rebecca says when you consider that you can save a small fortune on decorating that's not a bad deal.
"You won't have to decorate much. Throw a table cloth on the table and the centerpiece and you're good to go." she said.
Agreed.
How can decorations compete with that spectacular view?
You will find Parson's Castle on a peninsula across from Bosque Resort Restaurant on Highway 22 in Laguna Park.
