Codi Nunez started out helping one troubled student with reading and writing, and that led him to start Cove's Badges and Books Program.

It distributes donated books to students to encourage them to keep reading over the summer.

"Literacy I think is a really important thing that we need to continue on growing and developing for our children," says Nunez.

"So this is giving them the opportunity to help improve themselves and also carry that with them as they go into adulthood."

He's been able to give out books to dozens of students but wants to do more.
