Crash involving suspected drunken driver sends 2 to local hospital
A crash involving a suspected drunken driver early Friday on northbound Interstate 35 in Bellmead sent two people to a local hospital.
The accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. Friday near mile marker 338, Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said.
“An initial investigation showed a Dodge van driving erratically crashed into the rear of a Ford SUV,” he said.
The driver of the SUV and a passenger were taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco to be treated, he said.
“The driver of the Dodge was found to be intoxicated and will be charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated,” he said.
