Two people died and three others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck just east of Marshall Sunday night.

Haley Lynn Carroll, 22, and Dusty James Gabbard, 23, both of Marshall, died at the scene, on U.S. Highway 80, half a mile east of Marshall.

According to the DPS report they were riding in a 2007 Dodge Caliper that Carroll was driving south on County Road 2218 at 6:55 p.m.

The report says Carroll failed to stop at the intersection with U.S. 80 and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over into the eastbound lane of the highway where it was struck by a 2017 Ford Mustang, driven by Nathan Charles Guyer, 20, of Marshall.

That crash caused Carroll’s vehicle to enter the westbound lane, where a 2019 Chevy Blazer, driven by Jesse Wayne Wink, 69, of Marshall, struck it.

Guyer was treated at and released from a Marshall hospital.

Wink and a passenger, Barbara Wink, 65, of Marshall, were taken to a Marshall hospital and were listed in stable condition.
