A credit card skimmer was found Thursday morning in a pump at Kay’s Travel Center at 1520 South Interstate 35 in Bellmead, police said.

Travel center managers found the skimmer on pump No. 7, police said in a press release late Thursday morning.

“No other pump has evidence of tampering,” police said.

The skimmer appears to have been in place over the past five days, police said.

Police are advising motorists who may have used the pump to monitor their credit card accounts closely.

“If you locate fraudulent use, please report it to your local law enforcement agency, contact your credit card company or bank and consider contacting the three credit report bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union for discussion about placing alerts on your credit,” police said.
