Crews battle flames, winds, rain as fire destroys home
Firefighters battled not only the flames, but also cold and rain early Monday in Nolanville as they tried to keep a house fire from spreading.
Firefighters were called out to a home on FM 439 near Lonesome Oak Drive just after 3 a.m.
When they arrived they saw the home was engulfed in flames and battled wind and rain to keep it from spreading.
Firefighters said there was no one inside and a neighbor said they did not know of anyone living there.
"The structure had no power to it, so the Bell County Fire Marshal was requested to scene for a possible arson," the Nolanville Fire Department later said.
The house was a total loss along with teh contents, which included desks, chairs, shelving and "other school type contents," the fire department said.
