Fire near local food truck park destroys 1 semi, heavily damages 2nd
A late-night fire near a Killeen food park destroyed one 18-wheeler, heavily damaged a second and left a pickup truck with heat damage, Killeen Deputy Fire Chief and Fire Marshal James Chism said Wednesday.
The fire broke out at around 11 p.m. Tuesday on South Fort Hood Street.
When crews arrived, they found two 18-wheelers on fire.
No injuries were reported and none of the food trucks was damaged.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined, but Chism said a problem with an electrical inverter in one of the rigs is suspected.
