DPS offices in Central Texas to reopen by appointment only

The Texas Department of Public Safety will open its offices in Central Texas this Friday but will only offer limited services.
In order to attain service, Texans must set up an appointment online.
The offices will only be offering limited services including:
- Applying for an original Texas driver's license or identification card
- Applying for a Texas learner license
- Driver's license services requiring a skills exam
- Applying for a commercial driver's license (CDL) or taking a CDL skills test
The offices will not be renewing licenses yet.
Drivers with a license that expired after March 13 may continue driving with the expired identification card until offices reopen all their services.
Once an appointment is set, anyone who enters a DPS building will be screened.
They will be asked to answer several questions as well as get their temperature taken. Those taking a driving test must wear a mask.
