Bonds total $97,000 for a teenager a DPS trooper used a Taser to subdue after the teen charged him with a knife.

The confrontation happened at around 2:50 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South 17th Street and James Avenue after the trooper tried to make contact with a girl with the teenager who was suspected of being a runaway.

Robert Edwards, 18, of Waco, remained in the McLennan County Jail Monday charged with aggravated assault on a public servant harboring a runaway child, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, enticing a child, interference with public duties, possession of a dangerous drug and terroristic threat against a peace officer.

He’s also held on a parole violation.
