TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Bell County deputies arrested a 28-year-old Killeen man Monday in connection with a road rage shooting in April in Temple that sent another man to a local hospital.

Ethan Rice, 28, of Killeen, was in the Bell County Jail Monday afternoon charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His bond had not yet been set.

The charge stems from the shooting on April 17 in the 2500 block of North General Bruce Drive.

Investigators determined that two men were involved in a road rage incident on Interstate 35, police said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, eventually pulled off the highway and got out of his vehicle, police said.

The second man pulled up beside the victim and the two started to argue.

“The suspect then allegedly brandished a firearm. The victim put his hands in the air and backed away from the vehicle, but the suspect fired upon the victim and then fled the scene,” police spokesman Cody Weems said.

The injured man was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
