Two pit bulls who police said were part of a pack of dogs that killed a woman’s cat in Moody Friday, have been killed.

According to Moody Police Chief Roger Kennedy, a woman flagged down officers saying a group of approximately five dogs came into her yard and attacked her cat; two pit bulls, a border collie, and two small mutts.

The woman had captured the killing on video.

“The two pit bulls were actually pulling it (the cat) apart,” said Kennedy.

After officers saw the footage Kennedy describes as ‘very graphic,’ they went to find the dogs in the Avenue D area around 2:30 p.m.

Officers found the three bigger dogs, and shot the two pit bulls.

Kennedy said they were not aggressive to officers.

“We did not give them a chance to be aggressive, we took a defensive posture,” said Kennedy.

The owner of one of the pit bulls, who is also the owner of the border collie, has been notified.

“He understood after he saw the video,” said Kennedy.

The owner of the other pit bull is unknown.

Police determined the two smaller dogs were 'just excited' and not involved in the cat's killing.

Kennedy said no charges have been filed.
