Two women died in a collision between a car and an 18-wheeler Tuesday night on State Highway 7 in Limestone County.

The crash occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday four miles east of Kosse when the eastbound 2003 Pontiac in which the two women were riding crossed into the westbound lane of the highway and collided with an oncoming 18-wheeler.

Crystal Bennet, 32, of Montgomery, who was driving the car, and Malina Bishop, 52, of Goodrich, died on impact, Department of Public Safety Sgt. D.L. Wilson said Wednesday.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, Larry Ditgen, 64, of Harker Heights, was injured and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, Wilson said.

The accident is under investigation.
