Police recovered drugs including Xanax, methamphetamine and heroin from a vehicle whose driver flagged down an officer Tuesday near a busy highway intersection in Corsicana.

The driver waved the officer down after sitting through a green light near the intersection of State Highway 31 and Interstate 45 Tuesday morning.

The officer checked the driver’s license and discovered it was suspended.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, was taken into custody as other officers arrived to assist in a search of the vehicle.

According to a police Facebook post, officers found 12 grams of Xanax, small containers of methamphetamine, bags of tar heroin, a quantity of suspected heroin in capsules, digital scales, syringes and other paraphernalia.

The driver is facing a list of charges including manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
