Two-vehicle crash sends driver to local hospital in critical condition

WACO, Texas (KWTX) One driver was arrested and another was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition early Thursday after a two-vehicle crash in Waco.

The accident happened at around 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East Lake Shore Drive in front of the Cargill plant.

Investigators say the driver of a hatchback style vehicle was turning into oncoming eastbound traffic when it was struck broadside by a pickup truck.

The driver of the hatchback was unconscious when first responders arrived.

The two people in the truck weren’t injured, but police said the driver was arrested.

Sebastian Rodriguez-Carrillo, was charged with intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.

He was in the McLennan County Jail Thursday afternoon.

Further details weren’t provided.

The accident scene wasn’t cleared until just after 7 a.m. Thursday.
